A huge congratulations to Will S. for completing his first solo this week! On the calm morning of January 14th, Will and CFI Dan hit the pattern. Conditions were great, but Will’s flying was even better. CFI Dan was impressed and he told Will to taxi back to the hangar so he could hop out.
Will taxied to runway 16 and an excited CHI staff watched from the ground. He completed 2 touch and goes and a full stop before returning to the hangar. He was commended for his “stabilized approaches” and “stellar radio calls”.
Will is going to commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps this summer and will then head to flight training to become a pilot! Great job Will, and good luck with the rest of your training!
